What's your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, _____ ?
I operate almost exclusively via email, but am starting to use the (cell) phone more often. I am finding email to be more and more unreliable every year, especially when dealing with groups of people. It sucks to try and communicate something to many people and find out a week later that a few people never got the emails because of some blocking program set up by their ISP or some other such bullshit.
What books are on your nightstand?
The Elements of User Experience by Jesse James Garrett. Bought this a couple of years ago, but only decided it was finally time to read it after attending Adaptive Path's User Experience Week recently in Washington, DC.
Had a great time this weekend at the Grant Park festival. I booked all of the bands for the festival and they all sounded fabulous. The wife had a booth selling her jewelry and so I spent the weekend jumping back and forth between her booth and the music stages. It was a long, exhausting weekend especially when you factor in the 5k run that I took part in on Saturday morning.
I'm glad the weekend is over, but even happier that everyone seemed to really enjoy all the music I spent months agonizing over. This picture is of the band Tenement Halls closing out the festival on Sunday. Other notable bands who played were No River City, Brodie Stove, Jupiter Watts, Bouldercrest Singing Group, Moresight, hopeforagoldensummer, The Slack Republic, Petrillo Relents and Magnapop.
Here's to next year!
I only caught Magnapop but they were awesome. I forgot about Tenement Halls. Guess I'll catch em another time. Nice... read more
